ALTAIRI SPACE is a specialized Space company focused on Earth Observation, satellite-enabled systems, Space solutions, dual-use, services and artificial intelligence applications. Backbone, upstream and reach

The surge is driven by both "backbone" applications — Telecommunication, Navigation (GNSS and PNT) and Earth Observation — together with the upstream segment of satellite manufacturing, launches and ground infrastructure, and "reach" applications, where Space technology facilitates revenue generation in sectors like infrastructure management, security and defence, agriculture, logistics and digital communications.

03 — The team

Who we are

The founding team is led by Frank M. Salzgeber, joined by a network of local and international partners, including a Saudi venture partner with over a decade of experience investing in the global Space industry. Frank's two sons — who attended school in Riyadh and later pursued higher education in Canada and the United States — are also involved in the venture.

As a seasoned expert, investor, and entrepreneur, Frank brings decades of experience at the forefront of Europe’s, the Kingdom’s and the world’s Space ecosystem—now focused on building an international Space champion from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Frank worked as acting Vice Governor of the Space sector at CST (Communication Space Technology Commission) for more than 3 years and left CST at the end of January 2026.

Co-founder · Business Development

Lucas worked with Red Bull’s F1 marketing team, driving visibility and engagement at large-scale events, and interned at Intelmatix, a leading AI startup, where he contributed to projects across recruitment, strategy and technical implementation.

At ALTAIRI SPACE he translates market needs into business plans, structures go-to-market strategies, and designs and builds the company’s digital presence from the ground up. He is currently studying Finance at Northeastern University.

A globally-minded builder operating at the intersection of business, technology and Space innovation. Born in Germany, shaped by the Middle East and now building in the United States, he brings a cross-cultural lens to business, execution and leadership.

Cpt. Johannes S. Salzgeber

Co-founder · Engineering

Johannes was the youngest expatriate to earn a private pilot’s licence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, flying out of the country where he went to school.

He began his higher education in economics in Canada, then changed course to aerospace engineering. At ALTAIRI SPACE he carries the engineering side of the founding team.

This marks the third generation of the Salzgeber family contributing to Saudi Arabia's development. The family's connection to the Kingdom dates back to the 1970s, when Frank's father, Mick Ferdinand, played a key role with the Royal Commission Yanbu, helping to shape the early development of Yanbu. ALTAIRI SPACE continues this legacy — fuelling Saudi Arabia's next era of innovation, Space exploration and economic diversification.
